Uzbek wrestlers finish team race in third place at the 2018 Asian Junior Championships

Uzbekistan’s wrestlers finished their Asian Junior Championships campaign with nine medals as they finished the team race in third place with 128 points after Iran (189 points) and India (173 points).

In the closing day, Abbos Rakhmonov of Uzbekistan claimed a gold medal defeating Kazakhstan’s Syrbaz Talgat as his compatriot Hasanboy Rahmonov was awarded a silver medal after a loss in the final fight against Iranian Amir Nadi Yari.

Uzbekistan’s athletes gained 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals in men’s freestyle, 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals in Greco-Roman, and only 1 silver medal in women’s wrestling in the competition.
