13-member Uzbekistan wrestling team will leave for Junior World Wrestling Championship today

A 13-member Uzbekistan wrestling team will depart today for Tampere, Finland to take part in the Junior World Wrestling Championship, to be held from August 1 to 6.

The team comprises five members each in men's freestyle and Greco-Roman categories, and three members in women’s wrestling, reports National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Head coach Ravshan Ruzikulov had conducted the selection for the junior Greco-Roman wrestlers by inviting silver medallist of Junior World Wrestling Championships Ilhom Bahromov, and Turabek Tirkashev, Mahmud Bahshillaev and Jalgas Berdimurodov who gained the gold, silver and bronze medals in 2015 Junior Asian Championship respectively, also 2017 Junior Asian Championship champion Temur Mirzo Mamajonov.

Men's freestyle team will participate in the championship under the coaching of Aleksandr Nedorezov and Olimjon Himatov.  Junior World Wrestling Championship silver medal owner Gulomjon Abdullaev, 2016 Rio Olympic Games the youngest wrestler Abbos Rahmonov, 2017 Junior Asian Championship silver medallist Isa Shapiev and his twin Javrail Shapiev, 2017 Junior Asian Championship champion Hasanboy Rahimov will represent Uzbekistan in men’s freestyle at the Junior World Wrestling Championship.

Ahmet Kagarmanov will serve on the women’s wrestling team consisted of the bronze medallist of Junior Asian Championship Shahodat Julibaeva, Khadicha Najimova and Nabira Esenbaeva.
