Uzbek boxers will fight for the Final of AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships St Petersburg 2016

Today Uzbek Boxers will square off to be qualified to the final round of AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships 2016 being held in Saint Petersburg.

So far, our five boxers edged semifinals of the competition after their successful performance in the quarterfinals.

On November 24, there were no bouts and boxers had time to focus on preparation for their semifinal bouts still dreaming of gold. Five boxers representing Uzbekistan are now through to Friday’s Semi-Finals, with Cuba, Kazakhstan and USA’ boxers where all of them had already confirmed their bronze medals.

Powerful Otabek Kholmatov will meet Japan’s bright Flyweight prospect Hayato Tsutsumi at Flyweight (52kg).

Uzbekistan’s Shunkor Abdurasulov will try to eliminate USA’s Junior World Champion Marc Castro at Bantamweight (56kg).

At Lightweight (60kg), Uzbekistan’s 2015 Junior World Champion Bilolbek Mirzarakhimov will use his big right hook time and again to wear down Turkey’s Necat Ekinci in the semifinal bout of this afternoon.

Another Uzbekistan represent Shokhruz Rakhimov stands a place in the Final against Russia’s Vladimir Uzunian.
