
Salomov or Samassa? Headache for T-Team’s manager to make a choice
Coming substitute Makan Konate may be determined in their final pre-season when T-Team met Felda United at the Selayang Stadium, this afternoon. The two main candidates to fill the four foreign players The Titans were former Marseilles striker Mamadou Samassa and former national player of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Salomov.
Samassa and Salomov must exhibit high quality performance if they want to win the heart of Indonesian-born head coach, Rahmat Darmawan and wear the T-Team. Konate, who is also a major milestone T-Team last season's contract was not renewed after a knee injury and had surgery on December 29.
Up to now, T-Team had three foreign players, namely Mali-born defender, Abdoulaye Youssouf Maiga and two players from Uzbekistan, Dilshod Sharofetdinov (midfielder) and Farhod Tadjiev (attacker).
T-Team assistant coach, Mohd Azhari Salim, said the final decision to fill the quota of foreign players replace Konate is expected to be decided in the near future.
"We are looking for foreign players who can play in midfield and up front. I am sure, the final decision is expected to be decided after a pre-season game," he said.
T-Team had three wins and a draw in four games pre-season when facing Kuantan FA (1-1), followed by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) (2-1), the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) (3-1) and Sime Darby (2-0).
