Alpine skier Komiljon Tukhtaev won the first ticket to the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing

Uzbek alpine skier Komilchon Tukhtayev has won a ticket to the XXIV Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, the press service of the Ski Federation of Uzbekistan reports.

During the performance in the qualifying competitions, the athlete scored the required amount of points in the disciplines of "slalom" and "giant slalom", which gave him the right to participate in the 2022 Olympics.

In accordance with the established rules of the International Olympic Committee, currently Uzbekistan can only apply for two quotas in alpine skiing (1 woman, 1 man).

It is noted that the qualification period will last until January 16 next year.

The Winter Olympics will be held in the capital of China from February 4 to 20, 2022. According to expectations, four thousand athletes will take part in the competition. 109 sets of medals will be awarded at the Olympic Games in 15 disciplines in seven sports: biathlon, bobsleigh, skeleton, curling, speed skating, short track, luge, figure skating, hockey, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, freestyle skiing, cross-country skiing and snowboarding.
