Shavkatjon Boltayev was born in the historical city of Samarkand on January 10 in 2005 and started his boxing career in his early childhood. His first success was a bronze medal at the 2018 edition of the Uzbekistan Schoolboys National Championships where he lost to only eventual winner Khamidullo Khamidullayev but he defeated Bekzod Bekmuradov who claimed bronze at the Fujairah 2019 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships.
Boxers who were born in 2005 or in 2006 were eligible to attend in the Uzbekistan Schoolboys National Championships in the city of Termez on May 2019. Nearly 500 boxers attended in the Uzbekistan Schoolboys National Championships in the city of Termez setting up new records in this age group. Khorezm’s Shavkatjon Boltayev moved up two categories since the 2018 edition but technically and tactically he was better than Ferghana’s Boborakhim Dekhkonov in the final of the 63kg weight class.
Following his gold medal in the Schoolboys National Championships and a title in a Kazakh international tournament, Boltayev received the right to attend in the Kuwait City 2019 ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships. The 14-year-old Uzbek delivered a KO triumph as first in Kuwait City where he shocked Iraq’s Mahdi Raad Hawi with his strength and advanced to the semi-finals.
Shavkatjon Boltayev eliminated his main rival Kazakhstan’s Zhandos Yersultanov in an early final which was the best fight of the semi-finals. Boltayev was slightly better than the Kazakh but in the final he has done much better against India’s Gaurav Saini. Boltayev was quicker than his Indian opponent and demoralized Saini in the first round with his skills. The Uzbek caught Saini in the third round and the referee counted the Indian which meant Boltayev won their final by large margin of differences.
