Denis Istomin finishes runner-up at the ATP Challenger Liuzhou in China

Denis Istomin contested with No. 2 seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina from Spain in Sunday’s singles final.

Uzbekistan international advanced to the title match with wins over Japanese Makoto Ochi, Canadian Stevan Diaz, Chinese Tung-Lin Mu and Serbian Danilo Petrovic.

However, the 33-year-old was defeated 6-3, 5-7, 7-6(5) in the final of $54,160 hard-court event at the Liuzhou Tennis Center.
