FC Pakhtakor stun FC AGMK with a 6-0 win in Almalyk
Their latest masterclass – a 6-0 humbling of an AGMK side who have been their main rival for much of the campaign – means Shota Arveladze’s charges require just one more win to secure the title, with the earliest opportunity coming in Thursday’s clash against Bunyodkor.
Doston Khamdanov scored twice in the AGMK rout, with additional strikes from the star trio of Dragan Ćeran, Jaloliddin Masharipov and Igor Sergeev - plus a Mate Vatsadze own goal - taking Pakhtakor’s league record to 16 wins and two draws in their last 18 matches.
AGMK’s heavy defeat was the latest blow in a late season collapse for the Almalyk, whose three consecutive defeats have seen them drop down to third having gone unbeaten until September.
