Prospects for Rugby Development in Samarkand

The Secretary General of the Uzbekistan Rugby Federation, Kahramon Jalilov, visited Samarkand on a working trip to discuss strategies for advancing rugby in the region.

Key focus areas included:

• Promoting rugby among university students
• Improving coaching qualifications
• Enhancing referee training and match quality
• Organizing competitions at a higher standard

 Rugby is actively being promoted in Samarkand city, as well as in the Samarkand, Taylak, and Payaryk districts. The regional Department of Sports emphasized its commitment to developing this discipline into a widely practiced and competitive sport.
