Home-based White Wolves to convene in Tashkent

With foreign-based stars like Odil Ahmdeov and Eldor Shomurodov occupied with club duties, the squad for the camp – which will run from August 30 to September 4 – is entirely comprised of players from Uzbekistan’s domestic competition.

Among them are stalwarts like Khojiakbar Alijanov and Anzur Ismailov, who are two of the 4 players from defending Super League champions FC Pakhtakor to have been selected.

FC Bunyodkor - the club Abramov coaches in domestic football - provide six players, and the club’s stadium will serve as the venue for the training camp.

Arguably the most interesting addition to the squad is FC Navbahor defender Igor Golban, a former Russia U-21 international who will turn 30 on Friday and is now eligible for the Uzbekistan national team after spending five years in the country.

Abramov and his technical staff will use this camp to prepare for their long-awaited return to international match, which will be held against Tajikistan at the Lokomotiv Stadium on September 3.
