Uzbekistan near to host Asian Cycling Championships in 2018

The International Cycling Union (UCI) President David Lappartient and Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) President Osama AlShaafar visited Uzbekistan to sign the memorandum of collaboration with Uzbekistan Cyclising Federation, Uzbekistan National Olympic Committee, and the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports.

In the official meeting, the sides discussed the prospects to develop cycling sports in Uzbekistan, improve its popularity among young and adult athletes as well as increase the collaboration opportunities with international cycling organizations, such as The International Cycling Union (UCI) President David Lappartient and Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC).

In addition, the hosting international cycling tournaments were discussed as Asian Track Cycling Championships could be held in Tashkent Cycling Track in the upcoming year as well as Asian 2017 Asian Road Cycling Championships in 2019. Also, it was revealed that Uzbekistan will organize international bicycle race, Tour de Charvak Lake in the Charvak tourism zone in Tashkent region.
