Uzbek boxers win two titles in the Wuhan World Military Games 2019

Uzbekistan, host China, DPR Korea, India, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Mongolia and Thailand were the best Asian nations in the boxing tournament of the World Military Games in Wuhan.

Uzbekistan’s Shunkor Abdurasulov and Bilolbek Mirzarakhimov claimed silver medals in the World Military Games but following their losses on the last day of boxing, two of their young hopes succeeded in Wuhan.

Kozimbek Mardonov was bronze medallist in the 2014 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships but he is such a strong hope already in the elites and won the title of the light heavyweight (81kg) in Wuhan after beating Egypt’s All Africa Games winner Abdelrahman Salah El-Oraby.

Uzbekistan’s second title was taken by another 22-year-old hope Madiyar Saidrakhimov who stopped Kazakhstan’s Abzal Kuttybekov in the final of the heavyweight (91kg).
