Odil Ahmedov: I hadn't agreed with SIPG contract until Villas-Boas explained his future plans to me

Uzbekistan national team’s captain, Odil Ahmedov has recently joined Hong Kong’s Shanghai SIPG. After that more speculated signing, Uzbekistan international talked to the media. He expressed that Chinese Super League is not the end of his career where top players are welcomed in that league.      

“Not only Chinese clubs, but European clubs invited me to join their squad. But I chose this Chinese option which was the most effective and profitable for FC Krasnodar” started his speech Odil Ahmedov.

“Moving to Chinese Super League isn’t a backward step for me. It must be forward-step. Because top players will start the next season in this league and top managers are being hired by Chinese clubs.”  

“Before signing a contract with Shanghai SIPG, I talked to André Villas-Boas to know about his plans. He shared his future plans and informed my duties on the field. After this successful conversation, I agreed to ink a contract with Shanghai SIPG” concluded the flash interview a 29-year-old player.
