AFC match officials appointed for 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup

The trio will be part of the 48 match officials officiating in the competition co-hosted by the United States, Costa Rica and Jamaica from June 15 to July 7.

As part of the successful exchange programme, Mexicans Cesar Arturo Ramos and his compatriots Miguel Hernandez and Alberto Morin were selected to be part of the match officials at the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 earlier this year.

Prior to their appointments, Ravshan Irmatov from Uzbekistan, the youngest ever FIFA World Cup referee, took charge of a CONCACAF Champions League semi-final second-leg in April last year.

In return, Mark Geiger, from the United States and a FIFA referee since 2008, took control of the AFC Champions League semi-final between Korea Republic’s Suwon Bluewings and Japan’s Kashima Antlers at the Suwon World Cup Stadium in October 2018.
