Aleksandr Petrov: Almalyk FC showed the worst performance in AFC Futsal Club Championship 2017

Uzbekistan Futsal League champions Almalyk FC were knocked out of AFC Futsal Club Championship Vietnam after ‘shameful’ display by conceding 13 goals in two matches in Group D.

After this unsuccessful game against Bank of Beirut FC in the opening match, Uzbek side also failed to earn single points in the second match against Chonburi Bluewave who continued their impressive form in the competition as they brushed aside Almalyk 5-0 to take top spot in Group D, setting up a tantalising encounter with Shriker Osaka in the last eight.

Almalyk FC’s boss Aleksandr Petrov talked to the media in the post match press conference after this match took place at the Phu Tho Stadium.

"I am very upset by our performance. To me, this was worst than our first game. At 1-0, I was still hopeful but after they scored the second goal, I knew the game was lost.”

“The first team players were just not up to the mark and I gave the second string team a chance. You were looking at a team in transition. Many players here are old so the next time you see us, we will be a much younger side and hopefully, we will fare better."
