International Boxing Championship, Riga Open is being organized by Latvia Boxing Federation in Riga, Latvia.
140 boxers from Israel, Sweden, Estonia, Lithuania, Armenia, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Latvia, Uzbekistan, and Norway are participating in 67th Riga Open championship.
On Saturday, 17 semifinal bouts were held among women and men boxers in nine weight divisions at Riga National Sports Manège.
Five boxers representing Uzbekistan proved how they were powerful to defeat their rivals in semifinal bouts and got the places to fights for gold medals in final bouts of the championship.
First of all, Sirojiddin Gulomjonov won over Latvia’s Oscars Rancans at bantamweight (54kg) where Abdulhay Sharahmatov book a place for final bout after the victory over Latvia’s another boxer, Sergejs Hodjusins at super bantamweight (56kg).
Similarly, Elnur Abduraimov (super lightweight) and Mahmud Gaipov (middleweight) stunned their encounters in semifinal bouts.
The semifinals were finished with the bouts among super heavyweight boxers including Uzbekistan’s Bahodir Djalolov. Djalolov squared off with Norway’s Simen Nysaeter and crushed his encounter taking the advantage.
Final bouts will take place at 15:00 (GMT+5) at Riga National Sports Manège.
