FC Lokomotiv to welcome Al Rayyan to the Lokomotiv Stadium

Just as in 2018, both Lokomotiv and Al Rayyan have exited at the group stage. For the Uzbeks it is the third year in a row they have not been able to advance to the knockout stages.

Two weeks ago, both teams still had their chances intact ahead, but Al Rayyan succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Al Ittihad, while Lokomotiv surrendered a one-goal advantage to lost 3-1 at Al Wahda.

Al Rayyan find themselves rooted the bottom of the group with just three points. Their only victory came in the reverse fixture in Doha, when Lucca Borges and Gelmin Rivas turned the table on Lokomotiv, who had taken an early lead through Diorjon Turapov.

The match will be the last for coach Gilson de Souza in charge of Al Rayyan, after the Brazilian announced his intention to step down at the end of the season and pursue a new challenge.
