Four Uzbek Boxers edged the semifinals of AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships

AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships takes place in Saint Petersburg on November 17th-26th.

The competition is under the supervision of the world's governing body for amateur boxing AIBA and is the junior version of the World Amateur Boxing Championships.

A packed program of 40 bouts at Light Flyweight (49kg), Flyweight (52kg) and Bantamweight (56kg), Lightweight (60kg), Light Welterweight (64kg), Welterweight (69kg), Middleweight (75kg), Light Heavyweight (81kg), Heavyweight (91kg) and Super Heavyweight (+91kg), bouts took place in Quarterfinals of the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Saint Petersburg, and the city’s Sibur Arena was granted forty absorbing sessions of boxing as the Kazakhstan, Germany, Cuba, Uzbekistan, England and France teams all shone.

RAKHIMOV Shokhruz representing Uzbekistan made the early impact with an easy-earned victory over England’ WILLIAMS Lewis with 4-1 winning points at Heavyweight (91kg).

Uzbek medal-hope Otabek Kholmatov came through a superb battle with Luis Reynaldo NUNEZ MOSQUEA representing Dominican Republic Flyweight (52kg).  

ABDURASULOV Shunkor improved on a nervy first round showing with a bold win against China’s ZENG Jianming by 3-2 winning points at Bantamweight (56kg).

MIRZARAKHIMOV Bilolbek stunned Russia’s KHAMZAEV Beslan by a 5-0 unanimous decision at Lightweight (60kg).
