The number of the Uzbekistan Oliy Liga clubs decreases to twelve as the next edition of the league will be organized in three rounds according to the latest decision of Uzbekistan Football Federation Execute Committee.
Surprisingly, the relegation zone of the league for this season has been enlarged, while five clubs are in danger to slip from the Oliy Liga as FC Obod was already left the league. The first eleven teams and the winner of the Uzbekistan First League will be qualified for the next edition of the competition.
In the new format, 12 clubs participate in the league matches and play 33 matches in three rounds. In the first two rounds, the clubs compete against each other on the home-away basis. In the third phase of the competition, the host of the match will be identified with a draw.
