Shohjahon Ergashev keeps his perfect knockout record by stopping Marquis Hawthorne

Uzbekistan’s Shohjahon Ergashev Uzbekistan’s Shohjahon Ergashev kept his perfect knockout record intact by stopping Marquis Hawthorne in the second round of a welterweight bout scheduled for six rounds in the first bout of the nine-fight card.

The 25-year-old fought for the first time in the U.S. on November 11. He is promoted by Dmitriy Salita, who is co-promoting the card at the Nassau Coliseum, with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing.

Ergashev, a southpaw who resides in Brooklyn, has won each his 10 professional fights by knockout. Hawthorne (5-8, 1 KO), of Waco, Texas, has lost six of his last eight fights.
