Uzbek boxer booked himself into a final of AIBA Youth World Championship 2016
On November 25, semifinals of AIBA Youth World Championship took place at the Sibur Arena in Saint Petersburg.
Ahead of final stage, 20 semifinal bouts were moderated between youth boxers from 18 nations.
As we informed, four boxers representing Uzbekistan had edged semifinals of the competition among 40 boxers from 19 nations.
By the end of the semifinal bouts, only one Uzbekistan's boxer, MIRZARAKHIMOV Bilolbek guaranteed final of 2016 Youth World Championship at Lightweight (60kg).
At Bantamweight (56kg), Uzbekistan’s Shunkor ABDURASULOV was defeated by American Marc CASTRO by unanimous decision of referees.
Similarly, Shunkor RAKHIMOV lost his opportunity to be fight in final bout to Russian Vladimir UZUNIAN by unanimous decision at Heavyweight (91kg).
Additionally, Otabek KHOLMATOV was also eliminated by Japan’s bright Flyweight prospect Hayato Tsutsumi by the score 2-3 at Flyweight (52kg).
