Uzbekistan play a 1-1 draw with Tajikistan at the CAFA U-16 Championship

Azamat Abduraimov’s Uzbekistan side led at half-time thanks to a 28th-minute goal from Pakhtakor forward Rustam Turimurodov, but Tajikistan wouldn’t be denied as Alijoni delivered the equaliser 11 minutes before full-time to earn a point in Dushanbe.

Alijoni’s goal rounded out an action-packed opening day, but there is little time for reflection for the participating sides, with another full round of fixtures ahead on Saturday as the teams buildup towards the 2020 AFC U-16 Championship Qualifiers in September.
