Uzbek Hand-to-Hand Fighters Triumph at International Competitions

From May 29 to June 3, the World Hand-to-Hand Combat Championship among adults took place in Bursa, Turkey. The Uzbekistan national team performed exceptionally, winning:

• 8 gold
•  3 silver
•  3 bronze medals.

Then, from June 3 to 8 in Loutraki, Greece, the World Combat Games were held, where Uzbek athletes earned:

•  13 gold
•  3 silver
•  1 bronze medal.

Importantly, Uzbekistan ranked 1st in the team standings at both tournaments.

Today, a ceremonial awarding event was held at the Ministry of Sports, honoring the athletes and coaches for their outstanding international achievements. The event was attended by representatives from military organizations (where many of the athletes serve), the Ministry of Sports, the National Olympic Committee, and the Hand-to-Hand Combat Federation of Uzbekistan.

 Based on their performance, athletes and coaches were awarded:

• Honorary military ranks
• Badges of distinction
• Commemorative gifts

Officials praised the athletes for their accomplishments and wished them continued success in their careers.
