Banned Samvel Babayan's return mentioned as shame for Uzbekistan Football Association

The Executive Board of Uzbekistan Football Association made a decision on banning Samvel Babayan for life after being guilty of preparing fake contracts and making huge mistakes in 2018 World Cup Asian Qualifiers. Even the newly elected UFA President Umid Akhmadjonov promised in one his interviews that Samvel Babayan would never appear in football system of Uzbekistan.

However, Samvel Babayan’s return to Uzbek football happened suddenly and the media named it as a great big shame for Uzbekistan Football Association who cancelled their decision in just two weeks after the announcement of Babayan’s ban.

Until now, none of UFA officials released this information, but they continued in blaming Samvel Babayan in the failure in World Cup Qualification and saying he would never come back to Uzbek football.

Samvel Babayan believes his confidence and experience could contribute to the success of FC Lokomotiv in national and international competitions.

“After 2018 World Cup Qualification, I continued my career in Latvian Higher League as Spartaks Jurmala head coach. But I had to move to the administrative board of the club since my coaching license given by Asian Football Confederation was not acceptable in Europe.”

“A few days ago, I received an invitation from FC Lokomotiv and I agreed to work as an Adviser of Club President. FC Lokomotiv is aiming to develop and strengthen its Academy and I would be grateful if I could contribute to realise the aims using my experience.”

“As a start, we are planning to build cooperative relations with Russian Premier League FC Krasnodar and take part in youth association football tournament Viareggio Cup World Football Tournament Coppa Carnevale”
