Hector Cuper appointed as a head coach of Uzbekistan

The 62-year-old had guided Egypt to their first World Cup in 28 years following their 2-1 win over Congo back in October.

Uzbekistan have never qualified for a World Cup in their history and they hope that Cuper could be able to replicate his success with Egypt.

The Argentinian coach will be leading Uzbekistan in the upcoming AFC Asian Cup in 2019. Their group includes Oman, Japan, and Turkmenistan.
