Uzbekistan start their campaign with Bahrain clash in AFC U-16 Championship 2018 Qualifiers

The journey to the AFC U-16 Championship 2018 begins in earnest on September 16 as 44 teams enter the qualification fray. Leading the charge to qualify for the Championship, to be hosted by Malaysia, will be defending champions Iraq who beat the Islamic Republic of Iran on penalties in the 2016 final in Goa, India.

 The Qualifiers kick-off with Groups A, C, F and G starting the action on September 16 as the 44 teams - Turkmenistan have withdrawn from the initial entry list - bid for 15 spots to the 2018 Finals. Hosts Malaysia will be the 16th side in the Finals.

Opening day action in Group A will see Sri Lanka playing Bahrain followed by Jordan taking on hosts Saudi Arabia at the Riyadh Sports Club. Uzbekistan start their participation from the second fixture as they will face Bahrain on September 24.
