Akbar Djuraev Crowned Asian Weightlifting Champion; Amriddinov Takes Triple Silver

Uzbekistan’s weightlifting team delivered a powerful finish at the Asian Weightlifting Championships in China, with a standout performance in the men’s -109 kg category.

Olympic champion and world-class lifter Akbar Djuraev reaffirmed his dominance by securing gold in all three lifts. He posted 183 kg in the snatch, 223 kg in the clean and jerk, and a total of 406 kg, earning him three gold medals and the undisputed title of Asian Champion.

Teammate Sharofiddin Amriddinov also impressed, lifting 181 kg, 214 kg, and 395 kg, respectively. His efforts earned him three silver medals, placing him right behind Djuraev on the podium.

Thanks to these achievements, Uzbekistan now holds a total of 3 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze medals, placing the team in third overall in the championship’s medal standings.
