An updated WBA rankings for April have been announced. A number of Uzbek boxers go up
The World Boxing Association (WBA) has announced its rankings for April. According to it, there have been changes in the rankings of a number of Uzbek professional boxers.
Hasanboy Dusmatov, who defeated Muhsin Kizota in the light flyweight category (-48.9 kg) at the boxing event in Tashkent and won the WBA International belt, was included in the ranking and took the 4th place.
In the super bantamweight (-55.3 kg) Murodjon Akhmadaliev topped as a champion. Akhmadaliev also successfully defended his belt against Ryosuke Iwasa.
In the super lightweight category (-63.5 kg), WBA International belt holder Shakhram Giyasov also defeated Patricio Moreno on the same night as Akhmadaliev. In this month's ranking, Giyasov rose 3 places from 6th to 3rd place. Shohjahon Ergashev retained the 8th place as last month.
In the super welterweight (-69.8 kg) Israil Madrimov was the 1st place as in the previous month and is a mandatory contender for the championship belt in this direction. Madrimov defeated Emmany Calombo at the boxing evening in Tashkent.
In the super middleweight (-76.2 kg), WBA Continental Americas belt holder Bektemir Melikuziev jumped to 7th from the 14th place last month. Melikuziev will have his next fight on June 19 against Gabriel Rosado.
In the light heavyweight (-79.3 kg) Rustam Tulaganov was 14th last month. But Tulaganov dropped out of the top 15 in the April rankings.
