Asadbek Abdulazizov Successfully Competes at "Challenge Samarkand-2026"
On September 12, the Sprint event of the international triathlon competition Challenge Samarkand-2026 was held in Samarkand. Young Uzbek athlete Asadbek Abdulazizov took part in the event and successfully completed the race.
Asadbek started the competition wearing bib number 901. He completed the Sprint distance in 1 hour, 15 minutes and 27 seconds, successfully finishing the full course.
The Sprint event consisted of 750 meters of swimming, 19 kilometers of cycling, and 5 kilometers of running.
For Asadbek, the competition provided an opportunity to test himself in triathlon. He is primarily known for his participation in chess and has represented Uzbekistan at international tournaments. In 2026, for example, he took part in an international chess tournament in San Vicente del Raspeig, Spain, representing Uzbekistan.
At Challenge Samarkand-2026, Abdulazizov also tested himself in a different sporting discipline and achieved an impressive second-place finish in his age category.
His participation in the triathlon highlights the young athlete’s interest in sport and his willingness to challenge himself across different sporting disciplines.
