Bakhtiyor Kasimov: "I wanted to stay in Qatar, but it didn't happen as we expected"

Sports.uz website reported that Bakhtiyor Kasimov is returning to the Championship of Uzbekistan. This was confirmed by the player himself.

Thus, Kasimov's career in Qatar ended. First of all, an Uzbek Legionnaire, who played for one year in the first division team "Al-Khor", spoke about his career there.

"First of all, I want to say that I was lucky enough to play as a legionnaire. Thank God, everything is fine in Qatar, all around. My team and I won one Cup and 2nd place in the championship. I learned a lot of things that I need for my career. I especially liked the conditions and professionalism in the club."

"Al-Khor", played by Kasimov, was one step away from the Qatar Stars League. It should be said that the desire and goal of the Uzbek Legionnaire was to win a ticket to the Qatar Stars League with his team. Kasimov said in this matter:

"Al-Khor" club was assigned the task of entering the Star League at the beginning of the year. We had a great opportunity for this. Unfortunately, no luck. Of course, it affects the mood. Because we were coming from the beginning to the end of the year without falling below the 1st place. But we lost the last two matches. As a result, we lost in the playoff game with 2nd place. If we were able to get to the Star League with our team, a new chapter in my career would open for me."

At this point, he revealed how his departure from the club happened and what caused it. 

When my contract with "Al-Khor" ended, the team told me to wait until July 15 and they will give me a new contract. Unfortunately, a new law has been issued in Qatar. According to him, 5 players from the first league clubs excluded the Asian limit from the legionary limit. 3 of them are players under 24 and 2 must be over 24, so we parted amicably with my club. There were offers from other foreign clubs. I wanted to stay in Qatar more. But it didn't happen as we expected."

As we previously reported, Bakhtiyor is now returning to the Championship of Uzbekistan and will continue his career in Uzbekistan. Kasimov approved this.

"Life goes on. I will continue my work in our country. It's hot now in the championship of Uzbekistan. I have suggestions, I will make a decision soon. I think that everything will be good and if I'm lucky, I'll play as a legionnaire again," says Kasimov.
