Denis Istomin advances to quarterfinals at the ATP Challenger Newport Beach

Denis Istomin competed with Frances Tiafoe of USA for a spot in quarterfinals at ATP Challenger Newport Beach on Thursday.

The 33-year-old Uzbek player defeated Tiafoe with 6-3 6-2 win in two straight sets and advanced to the quarterfinals.

Istomin will face Thai-Son Kwiatkowski from USA at the Newport Beach Tennis Club on Friday.
