The company Hawk-Eye has developed an automatic system for determining the offside position. This was announced by FIFA.

The Times edition writes that the new system can be used for the World Cup, which will be held in Qatar in 2022 year.

It is noted that the developed system reacts to the offside position in one zone and reports this to the Assistant Referee (VAR). Then the referee himself decides whether the player who has fallen into the offside position will interfere with the continuation of the match.

At the IFAB meeting, which is developing new football rules, detailed information about these will be provided to FIFA.
