Farrukh Saifiev about the training camp: "We are working on a team game"

As you know, the national team of Uzbekistan held a training camp in the UAE in January. It involved legionnaires, who played in the local championship. Farrukh Saifiev, one of the leaders of FC Pakhtakor, a participant of the training, shared his thoughts.

- Farrukh, how was the national team's training camp in January?

- Frankly, I am satisfied with this training camp. The team has lived together for a long time, the players have become closer to each other, and the community atmosphere has become stronger. In addition, it was useful for coaches. Srecko Katanec had more opportunities to explain his style and ideas to the players. During the training, we had enough time to work on each line. With a week to go before the start of the game, the training sessions will be short, but we will be able to work more on style at this training camp.

- The training sessions are organized in a pandemic. Did the squad face any problems in this regard?

- Today the whole world is adapting to the new environment and conditions. In particular, football has to deal with coronavirus. During the camp, tests were conducted on a regular basis. If any of the team members tested positive, they were quickly quarantined. The doctors of our team worked hard in this regard. In addition to preventing an increase in the number of patients with Covid, they worked hard to ensure that the players recovered quickly and returned to training. Of course, we should thank them. The pandemic affected our rivals the most. Japan, Bahrain, and New Zealand have therefore changed their plans. Nevertheless, we worked on a team game in the meetings with good sparring opponents.

- You are one of the most experienced players on the team. At the same time, it should be noted that the composition is much younger. How long has it been since young people joined the community?

- Yes, we worked with some new players. We did our best to share with them our experience of the importance of the national community and the impact of the processes here. As I said above, the training was very productive in this regard as well. In other words, the new players were able to fully enter the environment.
