Four Uzbek boxers gain gold medals at the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships

Uzbekistan’s Azizbek Tojiev dominated the final of the light welterweight (63kg). Uzbekistan’s Azizbek Tojiev is one of their best boxers in the current junior age group who impressed in all of his international tournaments this year. The 16-year-old Uzbek light welterweight (63kg) boxer had a quick RSC success against Mongolia’s Elbeg Chuluuntogtokh in the semi-finals and looked fresh in the title bout when he met with India’s Yogesh Kagra. The 16-year-old Uzbek started the bout better than his Indian opponent and landed effective jabs in the first period of their final. Tojiev played with his Indian rival in the third round when he already enjoyed the final but kept the focus until the very end of the bout.

Uzbekistan’s No.1 Login Petrov realized his gold target in the event. Uzbekistan’s junior No.1 Login Petrov was named as the top favourite of the light middleweight (70kg) before the start of the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships. The Uzbek boxer’s father is his coach who has been working hard together to get top results in the international stages. Petrov eliminated Kazakhstan’s Rakhymzhan Shanzharkhan in the quarter-finals and continued his winning path against China’s Pan Xuanxuan in the last four. The experienced Uzbek used his longer hands against India’s Rahul but he attacked also well and his clear dominancy delivered for him a gold medal.

Uzbekistan’s Nusratbek Tokhirov realized his golden dreams at the middleweight (75kg). Uzbekistan’s Nusratbek Tokhirov eliminated a top rival in the semi-finals, Kyrgyzstan’s Kabatay Mukash Uulu at the middleweight (75kg) on Day6. The Uzbek was motivated and fresh to dominate his final against China’s Pu Yang who bowed out South Korea’s Im Hyeon Guk in the last four. The 16-year-old Uzbek was confident in the first round and ruled the middle of the ring against the Chinese Junior National Games winner. Tokhirov was smaller than his Chinese opponent but he managed that tactical job and claimed the well-deserved gold in Fujairah.

Uzbekistan’s Jakhongir Zokirov won his final by RSC at the heavyweight (+80kg). Uzbekistan’s strong favourite Jakhongir Zokirov arrived to the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships with perfect record and gold medals from international junior tournaments as the Heydar Aliyev and Botvinnik Memorials. The Uzbek heavyweight (+80kg) boxer is the son of Lazizbek Zokirov who competed in the Budapest 1997 AIBA World Boxing Championships. Zokirov eliminated his top rivals as India’s Vishal Gupta, Kazakhstan’s Roman Diar and Kyrgyzstan’s Argen Baktybekov during his road to the title. The 16-year-old Uzbek won the final by RSC following the second standings counts.
