Having refused Uzbekistan, Queiroz returned to Asia again

The Iranian national team has announced the signing of a contract with Portuguese specialist Carlos Queiroz.

The 69-year-old experienced specialist previously worked in the administration of the "Princes of the desert" in the period from 2011 to 2019. Under his leadership, the Persians took part in the World Cups organized by Brazil (2014) and Russia (2018).

Before Carlos, the team was led by Croatian Dragan Skocic. With Dragan, the Iranians were the first on our continent to win the right to participate in the 2022 World Cup. However, he resigned in July.

It should be recalled that Queiroz was also one of the main candidates for the post of head coach of the Uzbek National Team before signing a contract with Srechko Katanets. But negotiations with the Portuguese specialist were not successful.
