IBF Bakhram Murtazaliev and Jermell ordered the Battle of Charlo
In his first middleweight bout against WBC, WBA, IBF champion Jermell Charlo (35-2-1,19 KOs) Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (60-2-2,39 kos), after an unsuccessful second middleweight bout against number one Bahram Murtazaliev (21-0,15 kos) in his division, he will have to defend his IBF title for the championship belt.
According to BoxingScene, the IBF first demanded that the champion confirm his return to the first middleweight by Wednesday of the same week, then scheduled a fight against Murtazaliev and gave the boxing teams 30 days to negotiate. Bahram Murtazaliev, a 30-year-old Russian boxer, became a mandatory contender in November 2019.
Last year, the WBO was the first to demand mandatory protection from Charlo, but refused to fight Tim Sue for a fight with American Alvarez and has already lost one of his titles.
If he refuses to defend his IBF title, Murtazaliev will face number two Jack Kalki in a title fight.
For your information, Bahram Murtazaliyev once trained under the guidance of Uzbek coach Abror Tursunpolatov.
