In the last days of last year, the World Rapid and Bliss Chess Championship in Warsaw, Poland, brought a historic result not only for Uzbekistan, but also for the whole world.

Importantly, 17-year-old Nodirbek Abdusattorov, one of the youngest grandmasters in the world, defeated many top names including the reigning world champion in classical and rapid chess the Norwegian Magnus Carlsen.

In addition to Carlsen, Nodirbek rightly became the champion, defeating not only the most famous and leading chess players of current time, such as Fabiano Caruana (USA), Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia), Levon Aronian (Armenia).

After Rapid, 180 chess players competed in Bliss for two days. As a result of the discussions, Javohir Sindarov noted the best result among our compatriots. Our chess player took the 8th place with 13.5 points from 21 chances.

Tonight, the plane carrying world champion Nodirbek Abdusattorov and other members of the Uzbekistan national team landed at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov.
