Strengthening Cooperation with the International Triathlon Union

On May 24–25, the city of Samarkand hosted the World Cup stage in triathlon and paratriathlon. As part of this major sporting event, leaders from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Sports, the National Olympic Committee (NOC), and the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) met with the President of the International Triathlon Union, Antonio Alimani.

The meeting took place at the Museum of Olympic and Paralympic Glory in Uzbekistan. Minister of Sports Adkham Ikramov, First Deputy Chairman of the NOC Otabek Umarov, and Chairman of the NPC Mukhtorkhon Toshkhojaev expressed their gratitude to Mr. Alimani for his trust in Uzbekistan to host international competitions.

In turn, Mr. Alimani praised:

• the high-level organization of the World Cup event in Samarkand,
• the growing skill of Uzbek triathletes,
• and expressed interest in expanding cooperation.

The meeting concluded with a discussion on new directions for collaboration and strengthening international sports partnerships.
