Uzbek weightlifter Sardor Lapasov was disqualified for 4 years due to an anti-doping violation specified in Article 2.1 of the World Anti-Doping Code. This is reported by the press service of the National Anti-Doping Agency of Uzbekistan.

According to him, the doping test taken from the athlete during the competition revealed the presence of "Clenbuterol", a substance banned in sports. It should be noted separately that the substance "Clenbuterol" is included in the list of prohibited substances of 2024.

"For information, we would like to mention that a person serving a period of disqualification (athlete, coach, etc.) is prohibited from participating in international and national level competitions and training camps until the end of the period of disqualification. If the above requirements are not met, this person will be subject to a lifetime disqualification period It is also possible to impose a penalty against a sports federation or association in the code," UzNADA said.
