The group stage of the Uzbekistan Cup has ended.

Today PFL Uz has completed the group stage of the Uzbekistan Cup. All 16 participants of the 1/8 finals playoff stage were determined. To the AFC FC Nasaf and FC Pakhtakor Champions League, 14 teams have been added that have successfully passed the group selection sieve. More precisely, two teams from 3 places with the best tournament performance were added to the 12 most successful. We represent all 16 teams that have reached the playoffs.

An interesting situation happened with 3 places.
The first to finish the group stage with 4 points in third place was the Zaamin club. He had very good chances to reach the playoffs with such a baggage of points, and only a negative factor loomed somewhere in the background - a minus goal difference (6-7). The hope that it was unlikely that two other clubs in 3 places would score 4 points each, and with a better goal difference, was significant. BUT! – it was today, on the last day of the group stage, that hope collapsed.

In Group E, FC Shurtan finished the tournament third with 4 points with a difference of 5-5 – already better than FC Zaamin, and now it remained to wait for the results in Group G. They started playing there later than everyone else and finished around half of the 9th evening. And we finished the same: FC Surkhan was in 3rd place with 4 points, there was a positive difference at all – 2-1. That's how it all became clear: it was the negative figure (-1) in the goal difference that played a fatal role and left FC Zaamin out of the cup tournament.
