The President of the International Tennis Federation highly appreciated the Uzbek tennis school

The President of the International Tennis Federation, David Haggerty, visited the country to familiarize himself with the work carried out in Uzbekistan to implement big plans for the further development of tennis.

On April 15, the guest of honor was met at the Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov by the Minister of Sports Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov and the Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan Oybek Kasimov.

Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdullah Aripov received an authoritative guest. During the conversation, issues of further development of tennis in our country, holding major international competitions in the republic, allocating grants from the International Federation for domestic specialists to improve their skills in foreign countries where this sport is developed, attracting them to participate in ATP and WTA tournaments, involving Uzbek tennis officials in the leadership were discussed and the Executive Committee of the international Organization.

Then David Haggerty visited the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan. It is worth noting that this is Mr. Haggerty's first visit to our country. He noted that he gets a great impression from his stay here. During the meeting, the leadership of the Ministry of Sports Development and the National Olympic Committee exchanged views on a number of promising issues, such as further strengthening Uzbekistan's position in the international arena. The meeting organized here was also attended by Deputy Chairman of the NOC Sherzod Tashmatov and Secretary General of the Tennis Federation of Uzbekistan Iroda Tulaganova.

After completing the visit to the NOC, the officials went to the Republican Tennis School of the Olympic Reserve. There, the foreign guest met with young representatives of the Uzbek tennis school, who conducted their training sessions. The technique and movements of our young tennis players made a warm impression on the guest. At the end of the training session, the young masters of the big racket took a picture with David Haggerty for memory. 

After that, the working group invited an important guest to the State Museum of Timurid History. There Mr. Haggerty got acquainted with the culture and history of the Uzbek people, with the stages of development of our statehood. 

The visit of such high-level specialists to our country undoubtedly testifies to the recognition in the international arena of the large-scale reforms carried out by the President of the country in the field of sports.
