Uzbekistan President congratulates Murodjon Akhmadaliev for WBA and IBF junior featherweight titles

Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Murodjon Akhmadaliev for his great achievement to claim WBA and IBF junior featherweight titles.

The 25-year-old boxer will be also awarded "Uzbekiston Iftihori" (Honor of Uzbekistan) Honorary award by Uzbekistan President.

The 2016 Olympic Bronze medalist became the first fighter ever from Uzbekistan to become a unified champion, edging Daniel Roman to secure a pair of 122-pound titles in a terrific affair Thursday evening at Meridian at Island Gardens in Miami, Florida. 

Akhmadaliev (8-0, 6 KO) won two cards and Roman (27-3-1, 10 KO) won the third, all on scores of 115-113. BLH had the fight 115-113 and 117-111 for Akhmadaliev, who also becomes Uzbekistan’s first unified champion.
