Uzbekistan’s Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov enjoy his return to the international events

Kazakhstan’s young talents such as ASBC Asian Youth Champion Biybars Zheksen, Nurkanat Raiys and Bauyrzhan Baygonshekov all defeated more experienced rivals on Day2.

Three sessions were in the schedule of the second competition day and almost all of the weight categories have been affected. The new Strandja Memorial Tournament is the 72nd edition which made the event one of the most traditional competitions in the whole world. Following the general weigh-in, it is confirmed that 220 female and male boxers from 30 nations are attending in the Strandja Memorial Tournament.

Armenia, Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, host Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Georgia, Greece, India, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Lithuania, Morocco, Moldova, Mali, Poland, Romania, Russia, Switzerland, Slovakia, Sweden, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United States of America and Uzbekistan are the participating nations in Sofia. Among the Asian countries, India, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan decided to send strong teams to the Strandja Memorial Tournament.

Uzbekistan’s Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov is one of the biggest names at the Strandja Memorial Tournament who won four big events in the recent two and half years. He is AIBA World Champion, ASBC Asian Champion, Asian Games winner and gold medallist from the Asian & Oceanian Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event. The Uzbek featherweight (57kg) boxer enjoyed his return to the international events and won his contest against Armenia’s young Artur Ghazaryan.

Uzbekistan’s Elnur Abduraimov qualified for the Tokyo Olympic Games at the lightweight (63kg) but his younger teammate Asadkhudja Muydinkhudjayev represent the country at the Strandja Memorial Tournament. The 19-year-old Uzbek has done a strong debut on Day1 and he continued his winning path against Kazakhstan’s ASBC Asian Youth Champion Samatali Toltayev in the second day of boxing. His fellow, the Asian Games winner Bobo-Usmon Baturov won his contest against Kosovo’s Patriot Behrami at the welterweight (69kg).
