Uzbekistan’s 19-year-old Javlonbek Yuldashev makes his debut with a gold at the Chyrchyk International Boxing Tournament

The Chyrchyk International Boxing Tournament was held before the Asian & Oceanian Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event mostly for the young hopes, new elite and U22 boxers. 

Uzbekistan hosted the event in high quality in Chyrchyk which is located in the Tashkent region of the country. The President of the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation and ASBC Executive Committee member Mr. Saken Polatov also visited the tournament in Chyrchyk and followed the performance of the next generation of the Uzbek boxers.

Altogether 118 male boxers attended in the Chyrchyk International Boxing Tournament in 10 weight classes from the light flyweight (49kg) up to the super heavyweight (+91kg). More than 20 boxers attended at the lightweight (60kg), light welterweight (64kg) and welterweight (69kg) in Chyrchyk.

Kazakhstan won the two smallest weight classes in the Chyrchyk International Boxing Tournament in Uzbekistan. Firstly, Ryskhan Talip defeated a local hope Mukhiddin Olgoziyev in the final of the light flyweight (49kg) before their former AIBA Youth World Champion Shalkar Aikynbay claimed the gold at the flyweight (52kg). The latter Kazakh boxer defeated Tashkent region’s Mamurjon Eshkuvatov in the second final of the event.

Samandar Kholmurodov won the gold medal at the Bangkok 2017 ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships and joined to the elite boxers in 2019. The 19-year-old Uzbek eliminated another teenager Mukhammadmuso Abdurakhmanov and continued his winning path against Dilshod Abdumurodov in the final of the bantamweight (56kg).

Mirkomil Abduvokhidov of Andizhan was not the main favourite of the lightweight (60kg) in Chyrchyk but he was able to eliminate all of his rivals before claiming the title against Bekzodbek Isadullayev. Another Andizhan-based Uzbek boxer Sardorbek Ganiyev eliminated Kyrgyzstan’s teenage talent Mirzokhid Imamnazarov in the quarter-finals of the light welterweight (64kg) and continued his winning series through to the title in Chyrchyk.

Javlonbek Yuldashev claimed gold medal at the Puerto Princesa 2017 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships and he was member of the national youth team in 2019. The 19-year-old Uzbek joined to the elite age group this year and moved up to the welterweight (69kg) in the recent weeks. Yuldashev defeated more experienced Uzbek elite rivals as Temur Saidov and Jakhongir Rasulov as well.

Khavasbek Asadullayev is an Andizhan-based Uzbek boxer who exceeded the expectations with his success over Youth National Champion Zakirkhodja Madiyev at the middleweight (75kg). Andizhan’s Husanboy Kirgizbayev claimed the gold medal at the light heavyweight (81kg) while the favourites as Uzbekistan’s Akmurad Gaffurov and Kazakhstan’s Bekzat Tanatarov failed to get the title in Chyrchyk.

Shakhzod Mauzerov trains in the Surkhondarya region of Uzbekistan who defeated all of his three rivals at the heavyweight (91kg) including Shakhzod Sulaymonov in the final. The last gold medal of the Chyrchyk International Boxing Tournament was achieved by Uzbekistan’s Javokhir Togaymurodov who defeated Kazakhstan’s ASBC Asian Youth Champion Nurdaulet Ulanuly in the final of the super heavyweight (+91kg).
