September

September brought with it the much-anticipated return of Asia's premier club competition, the AFC Champions League. The 2020 edition resumed with the teams from the West Zone playing out the remaining fixtures in a centralised format in Qatar.

The AFC Champions League (WEST) concluded with IR Iran's Persepolis FC defeating Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr in the semi-final on October 3 and much of the attention for the remainder of the month turned towards the return of the East.

In addition there was a focus on the upcoming Indian Super League season and an AFC Cup Bracket Challenge that captured the imagination and support across Asia.
