2 women's teams of Uzbekistan have successfully passed AFC licensing

You know that men's teams go through the licensing process every year at the request of the Asian Football Confederation. In recent years, the Professional Football League of Uzbekistan has been paying serious attention to this process, carried out in order to ensure the infrastructural development of football clubs.

Uzbekistan was one of the first in Asia to start licensing women's teams. In particular, in 2021, the first Asian women's teams also passed test licensing. Uzpfl supports the AFC initiative for the development of women's football on the continent and, having responded positively to the AFC's request, among the few countries, the teams of the Top League of Uzbekistan have applied for licensing for the first time. At the same time, 11 clubs – 10 participants of the Major League and the Dynamo-W First League team on a voluntary basis uploaded to the AFC CLAS online platform the necessary packages of documents on 5 basic principles: sports, infrastructure, work, legal, financial.

As a result, 2 clubs -FC Sogdiana-W from Jizzakh and FC Bunyodkor-W from Tashkent - won the AFC license.

According to the plan of the Continental Football Association, from 2022 the licensing process for women's teams will be strictly applied in all other member states. Therefore, from 2023 it is planned to organize a full-fledged Asian Champions League among women's teams, and from next year only those clubs that will receive a license will participate in it.
