Uzbekistan's Azizbek Abdugofurov defeats Wuzhati Nuerlang in Pasay City, Philippines

Abdugofurov dropped the grizzled Chinese boxer in the early rounds but was unable to stop him. He went on to win a spirited unanimous decision by scores of 117-111, 118-111 and 117-110.

The 26-year-old had a very good amateur career, winning 250 of 270 contests. He won three national titles and silver at the Universiade Games.

The highlight of his time in the unpaid ranks came in 2013 when he represented his country at the World Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
