Amirkhon Sodikov: “I have set important goals for myself”
Uzbekistan's archery team, which won a license to the Summer Olympics for the first time in the history of Uzbek sport, is making final preparations for the upcoming Olympics in Paris. In particular, licensees Amirkhon Sodikov and Ziyodakhon Abdusattorova are preparing for the important starts of the quadrennium under the guidance of the coaching staff. Today we will ask Amirkhon Sodikov's opinion before the start of the Olympic Games:
- What results did you expect from the license tournament? Did you believe that you will win a ticket to Paris-2024?
- Frankly speaking, I did. The state created all the necessary conditions for athletes and we had to justify the trust. I have been training with my mentors for a long time, working on myself. Before the license tournament at the World Cup in Korea, I won a bronze medal with Ziyodakhon Abdusattorova. It gave me strength and confidence.
- What do you expect from the upcoming Games?
- This will be the first Olympics in my career, so I'm a bit nervous. Together with experienced national athletes I will defend the honor of Uzbekistan and it makes me proud. I have set big goals for myself. We will try our best to perform worthily at the Olympic Games and return to my homeland with a victory.
