ASBC Asian Junior Champions Feruza Kazakova, Nigina Uktamova and Aziza Zokirova win gold medals in Uzbekistan Women’s Youth National Championships

Many of their stars returned to the top of the podium including ASBC Asian Women’s Junior Champions as Feruza Kazakova, Nigina Uktamova and Aziza Zokirova.

Altogether 106 boxers attended in the ten categories from the light flyweight (48kg) up to the heavyweight (+81kg) in the Uzbekistan Women’s Youth National Championships. Boxers who were born in 2003 and in 2004 were eligible to attend in the Uzbekistan Women’s Youth National Championships. This age group will be official in the youth level in the 2021 competitions but the management of the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation decided to manage the talents for next year.

Bukhara’s new hope Farzona Fozilova caused a small surprise in the first final of the Uzbekistan Women’s Youth National Championships where she defeated a more experienced boxer, Mokhlaroyim Savriddinova at the light flyweight (48kg) where eleven boxers competed for the medals.

ASBC Asian Junior Champion 17-year-old Feruza Kazakova advanced to the final of the flyweight (51kg) which delivered the most remarkable battle of the event. Kazakova was slightly better than another ASBC Asian Junior Champion, Sabina Bobokulova and both proved that they are among the bests in the world.

Tashkent region’s Rukhshona Uktamova had four contests at the bantamweight (54kg) and she managed to win all of them including the tough final against Dzhizak’s Shokhsanam Saparova. Another boxer from Dzhizak, ASBC Asian Junior Champion Nigina Uktamova worked well enough at the featherweight (57kg) and dominated the national event beating Andizhan’s Raykhona Pozilova in the final.

Kashkadarya’s Junior National Champion Sevara Ashirova was the main favourite for the gold medal at the lightweight (60kg) and she accomplished her goal winning all of her contests by RSC including the final over Mukhlisa Kamoliddinova. The title of the light welterweight (64kg) was taken by the favourite, Mokhira Akhmedova of Karakalpakstan who walked over to the title against Tashkent region’s Shakhzoda Otakulova.

Dzhizak’s Aziza Zokirova was a big sensation in the Fujairah 2019 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships where she claimed an unexpected gold medal. The 17-year-old talent moved up to the welterweight (69kg) but she stopped all of her opponents in the first round. Eight boxers competed for the title of the middleweight (75kg) and finally Samarkand’s Junior National Champion Shakhnoza Ergasheva won the title after beating Karakalpakstan’s Yashnar Karimova.

Dzhizak’s Sakhobat Khusanova stopped Namangan’s Khadijabonu Ergasheva in the final of the light heavyweight (81kg) which she dominated in the national event. Surkhondarya’s defending Junior National Champion Nargiza Kurbonalieva was the main favourite for the gold medal at the heavyweight (+81kg) and she realized her gold medal chance over Khorezm’s Charoskhon Erkinova.
