Turkmenistan 2020 qualifying action set to excite for Uzbekistan

The Qualifiers are divided into four zones, with the West Zone kicking off the action on Wednesday, before the 2019 AFF Futsal Championship, which will serve as qualification for the ASEAN Zone, starts on October 21.

The East Zone hopefuls will begin their campaign the next day, while the Central & South Zone commences on October 23. A total of 31 teams will be bidding to qualify.

CENTRAL & SOUTH ZONE

Uzbekistan had a great run in the 2018 Finals and their determination to claim a first-ever title makes them frontrunners in Group A, where they will have Tajikistan, Nepal and Afghanistan for company.

Nepal are the only country from the South Zone taking part in the Qualifiers.

Defending champions Islamic Republic of Iran will be looking to power through the regional Qualifiers in style, with Kyrgyz Republic and Turkmenistan their opponents in Group B.

Turkmenistan, as hosts, have already qualified for the Finals and should they finish in the top two positions, the best third-placed team from the two groups will qualify.
